Why is the brand called Blue Chair Bay?
Blue Chair Bay is a fictional location that is featured in Kenny's 2004 song "Old Blue Chair," a portion of whose lyrics appear on the front of the bottle. The song talks about Kenny's affinity for the islands.
Can I tour your distillery?
Unfortunately our distillery is not open to the public. If this should change, we'll let you know.
How old is the rum used to make Blue Chair Bay?
Age matters less in rum-making than it does in whiskey making. Spirits age faster in warm weather than in the harsher climates. We want the delicate flavors of fruit and spice and golden sugar to show, so we want just the right amount of barrel aging. That said, the component rums used to make Blue Chair Bay are aged up to 15 months in bourbon barrels. If the rum remains in the barrel for too long, the barrel flavors dominate the delicate sugar cane flavors and the rum takes on more of a whiskey personality.
