Kiwi Mint Julep Potion Recipe - Blue Chair Bay®

Kiwi Mint Julep Potion

    Color Changing Magic Ice:
  • 1 teaspoon butterfly pea flower
  • 1 cup water

  • Butterfly Pea Infused Rum:
  • 2 oz. Blue Chair Bay® White Rum
  • 2-3 dried butterfly pea flowers

  • Cocktail:
  • 5 mint leaves
  • .75 oz. kiwi juice, not pulp
  • 1 kiwi slice, peeled
  • 1 lime wedge, peeled
  • .5 oz. simple syrup
  • .25 oz. lime juice
  • 1.5 oz. butterfly pea infused rum, made prior
  • magic ice, made prior

    Color Changing Magic Ice:
  • Steep butterfly pea flower in hot water for 7 minutes. Strain into a mini ice cube tray and freeze overnight.
  • Butterfly Pea Infused Rum: Add 2-3 dried butterfly pea flowers to a mini mason jar with rum. Seal the jar and let the flowers infuse the rum in a cool area for several hours to one day.
    Cocktail: Add mint, kiwi juice, kiwi slice, lime wedge, and simple syrup into a cup. Muddle together. Add creme de menthe and fill the remaining glass with crushed ice. Next, pour the lime juice and then strain the butterfly pea infused rum into the glass. Stir. Top with magic ice and garnish with a kiwi slice and mint. Watch the magic happen!
